The new record fish surpasses the previous record of 10 pounds, 8 ounces. The previous record was also set on Reelfoot Lake in April 2009.

The criteria to be considered for a state record fish along with the new record application and instructions, state records and fishing license information are in the 2013 TWRA Tennessee Fishing Guide.
