A petition to list five species of sturgeon under the Endangered Species Act may be warranted, according to NOAA Fisheries. The agency is seeking scientific and commercial information regarding the five species (Acipenser sturio, A. naccarii, A. mikadoi, A.sinensis, and Huso dauricus) for a status review to determine if action is necessary.
The deadline for submitting information is Oct. 26.
