2013 Pennsylvania Black Bass Fishing Season

Pennsylvania’s black bass fishing season opened June 15. Many of the state’s most popular bass fishing spots are expected to experience a surge in use during the summer, according to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC).

PFBC recently issued a reminder that anglers need to be aware that “catch and immediate release” regulations apply to smallmouth and largemouth bass on the lower sections of the Susquehanna River (below Sunbury) and Juniata River (below Port Royal) and into the rivers’ tributaries to points one-half river-mile upstream from the confluence.
